Dear Wendy Wasserstein,

I have spent this afternoon reading three of your plays.  I get it.  I hear you.  I get what you're saying.

It's not bad, it's just that I come from a generation that doesn't tolerate things that aren't subtle.  We like things to slowly be revealed to us so that they collect themselves just before the ending, and in doing so it becomes obvious.

Can't win either way.

love,
hannah
