Dear Chicago,

Recently, I have been lusting for you so bad.  Maybe longing is a better word, but that's how it feels.  I'm clinging to anything related to Chicago.  The littlest thing and I'm lost in thoughts about the Windy City.  It's crazy.

Last time I was there was January 3, not that long ago, but apparently that's too long for me.  I can't wait to go home.

Dear Casimir Pulaski Day,

You are perhaps my favorite day of the year, when I am in Illinois.  Outside of Illinois you're just the first Monday in March, which is currently Monday of midterms.  It's so much fun to explain today to people not from Illinois, they don't get it, and then you tell them that you have the day off of school, just for a Polish general in the 18th century.  It's a thing of beauty.

This may have been the best Casimir Pulaski day on record, and I didn't even have the day off of school.  It was just one of those days where everything came together.  Discussions were powerful, my outfit felt right, rehearsal was breezy, and I picked up reading for spring break.  The only off moment was a moment during yoga where I was clearly off balance.  Other than that...

Dear Ten Thousand Things,

This theater is one of the first groups that really made me rethink what I wanted out of a theater-viewing experience.  When I saw my first show there I was blown away, totally re-imaging what kind of theater I wanted to be a part of.  There are still questions I have about how they run their organization, but I think that it's an amazing model.

Today was no different, their production of Doubt did the same that their Twelfth Night did.

Also, I wanna write plays like that.  I wanna write twisted beautiful plays.  I wanna write plays where you forget to breathe while you're watching them because you're so wrapped up in them.  I wanna write plays where it doesn't matter that you can see the entire audience because you aren't watching them, you're watching the stage, forgetting to breathe.

Dear Founder's Day,

There are strategies necessary to enjoy you.  What dress? What heels? How tall? Do you wear them when dancing? How many times are you willing to traverse the stairs? Are you going to see the music?

Perhaps the most important is how much is one willing to tolerate the drunken folks who push and sumble through the dance floor? Truly, that is the most important question.

But everyone looks good, and it's exciting.  Always exciting.

Dear Grey's Anatomy,

Currently I am watching your pilot.  Cause, apparently these days I can't write anything more than two pages without watching something, even if it's something I have already seen.

Remember when you were like the hottest thing on television? Those days have passed... But it's fun to pretend.

Dear Wednesday Nights,

I am so deliriously happy when you arrive.  Tuesday is over, so I'm happy, and I can look forward to Thursday, so I'm doubly happy.

I am just happy as a clam on Wednesday nights.

Dear Colin Firth,

In the past I have had Meryl Streep days, where all I do is watch is watch interviews and videos of Meryl Streep.  Tonight, unintentionally of course, became Colin Firth night.  I came across this and then I was done.  I mean, how can you not?

After having watched this many interviews with him now, he's a sort of wonderful kind of awkward.

There's some gum in our room that's strange.  It's apple and pineapple...
